Ander Steele is the Lead Data Scientist at Tonic.ai. He has a PhD in mathematics from Boston University and held academic positions at the University of Calgary and UC Santa Cruz. Following his academic career, he worked as a senior data scientist at Fullpower Technologies, applying deep learning to classify disordered sleep breathing from a variety of sensor data. At Tonic, he is responsible for the development of the company’s machine learning algorithms and synthetic data capabilities. When not faking data, he enjoys mountain biking and hiking in the redwoods of Santa Cruz, California.
