Brian Tanner is the Co-Founder and CEO of Artificial Agency, an AI company that is pioneering generative behavior for gaming. After specializing in AI during an undergraduate Computer Science degree at the University of Manitoba, Brian pursued a Masters and PhD under Rich Sutton, the grandfather of modern Reinforcement Learning. After graduate school, Brian joined a one-person consulting firm and grew it into the industry-leader in Canada before selling it to join DeepMind. At DeepMind, Brian co-lead the research engineering team in Alberta with Andrew Butcher for 5 years. Since then: Brian, Andrew, and two other colleagues from DeepMind founded Artificial Agency.
