Diane Hu is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in applied machine learning and data science. She has spent over 12 years at Etsy, where she currently serves as Senior Director of Engineering of Recommendations & Personalization. In this role, she leads teams working on personalized recommendations and computer vision. Earlier in her career, Diane worked at Yahoo! Labs and Intel Labs as a Research Scientist, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UC San Diego and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington. In addition to her industry experience, Diane has been an active contributor to the academic and research community, serving as area chair and reviewer for top conferences in machine learning and data science, including KDD, ICML, WWW, NeurIPS, and SIGIR.
