Nikita Roy is a data scientist, journalist, and media entrepreneur. She hosts the globally acclaimed Newsroom Robots podcast, consistently ranking among the top technology podcasts across 25 countries. Her digital news startup, The NRI Nation, has been incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs. She is a two-time semifinalist in the Harvard President's Innovation Challenge and a recipient of the Harvard Innovation Lab's Spark Grant. Nikita has participated in the International Center for Journalists' News Innovation Lab and the Google News Initiative Startups Lab. Recognized as a notable Canadian youth founder, she was selected for Canada's League of Innovators Accelerator in 2022.
Currently, she serves as the President of the Canadian Association of Journalists - National Capital Region chapter. Additionally, she holds the position as a Generative AI Specialist at the University of Toronto. She has led AI literacy workshops at places like the University of Toronto, the City University of New York's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and the International Center for Journalists. An alumna of the University of Toronto and Harvard University, Nikita is dedicated to promoting the responsible and innovative use of AI in media. She conducts workshops, offers consultancy services, and develops AI products.
