John Jelley
John Jelley is Senior Vice President, Product & User Experience, Global Streaming, NBCUniversal Media Group, overseeing the product and design of the platform’s viewing experience in the U.S. and international territories.
Since joining NBCUniversal in 2019, Jelley has played a central role in establishing Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service in the U.S., as a premier entertainment destination. He led the introduction of Peacock’s new mobile features in 2025, including vertical “Can’t Miss Clips” and mini-games and prediction games tied to NBCU’s shows and sports, including “The Traitors,” “Love Island USA,” “America’s Got Talent” and Premier League. And with the NBA coming to Peacock for the first time ever starting in October 2025, Jelley and the NBCU team will launch new streaming features such as Peacock Performance View and Peacock ScoreCard to give basketball fans new ways to enjoy the game.
Jelley also spearheaded Peacock’s Emmy award-winning user experience for the 2024 Paris Olympics, including innovative features such as “Your Daily Olympic Recap on Peacock,” Discovery Multiview and Live Actions, which helped fans navigate over 5,000 hours of coverage on the most comprehensive Olympics destination in U.S. media history.
Prior to Peacock, Jelley was Vice President, Business Development, running strategic partnerships and investments for Sky’s U.S. office on the West Coast. During his time at Sky, Jelley oversaw product design and development, which is the technology now powering various joint ventures for NBCUniversal, including SkyShowtime in Europe and Showmax in Africa. He spent 2015 to 2019 as a board observer for Pluto TV out of Los Angeles, California.
Earlier in his career, Jelley spent several years in news at Sky as an Executive Producer and Editor. During his time at Sky, he created and built the award-winning Sky News application for iPad, which was named “2012 Best App Design” by Design Week.
Jelley holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of St. Andrews, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in broadcast journalism from the City University of London.
