Kat Downs Mulder
Kat Downs Mulder is an award-winning digital news innovator. As SVP and General Manager of Yahoo News, Downs Mulder oversees global products, editorial and strategy, including the Yahoo homepage, news, entertainment and lifestyle content.
Downs Mulder came to Yahoo after 14 years at The Washington Post where she was most recently Chief Product Officer and Managing Editor, bridging newsroom and engineering and driving a strategy aimed at accelerating digital innovation across the company. Previously she was The Post’s first-ever Vice President of Product & Design.
Downs Mulder graduated from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and has also taught courses at Georgetown University and Northwestern. Her work has been honored by the Peabody Awards, the Society of Newspaper Design, the Online Journalism Awards and the Malofiej International Infographics Awards. She resides in Washington, DC.
