Jo Ann Davaris
Jo Davaris joined Booking Holdings in late 2019 as its first-ever Global Chief Privacy Officer, where she has been instrumental in building a unified privacy framework across the company's world-renowned brands, including Booking.com, Priceline, Kayak, OpenTable, and Agoda. Her leadership ensures that privacy is seamlessly integrated into the company’s global operations, while fostering innovation and maintaining consumer trust.
Before joining Booking Holdings, Jo served as the inaugural Global Chief Privacy Officer at Mercer, a global consulting leader. At Mercer, she crafted and led the company’s comprehensive privacy program, designed to not only protect data but also to drive growth, enable innovation, and seize new business opportunities across a complex array of services.
Prior to Mercer, Jo led privacy policy and program development globally for the Institutional & Network businesses at American Express, strengthening privacy governance across the organization. Earlier in her career, she served as an attorney with the Administration for Children’s Services in New York City, where she prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases, underscoring her commitment to advocacy and protection in all its forms.
Jo's influence extends beyond corporate roles. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Corporate Counsel Women, Influence and Power in Law ALM Event, and Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Sciences. She recently completed her term on the Board of Directors of Rising Ground, a leading NYC social services organization, and continues to serve on the Board of the Emergency Shelter in NYC. A sought-after speaker, Jo frequently shares her expertise at conferences on Data Protection, Privacy Program Management, Information Governance, Regulatory Change Management, and Women’s Leadership Development.
