Waste-Free and Reusable by Design
We’re stepping up our commitment to sustainability by eliminating aisle carpet and using a darker carpet that’s built to last. Plus, we’re reusing vinyl signage from previous years and printing undated banners for the future. Fewer disposables, more reusables – all to reduce landfill waste and make a positive environmental impact.
An Oasis of Urban Wildlife and Green Roofs
The Javits center's 6.75-acre green roof, which provides habitat for diverse bird and bat species, also helps reduce energy use by 26% and mitigates the urban heat island effect. It retains about 7 million gallons of stormwater runoff annually, a significant ecological benefit.
Rooftop Farm for Sustainable Catering
The Javits Center’s one-acre rooftop farm produces up to 40,000 pounds of produce yearly, which is used in meals served at the center. This local sourcing reduces transportation emissions and ensures fresh ingredients are integrated into event catering.
Centralized Waste Stations for Cleaner Spaces
Supporting smarter waste management, we’ve opted out of individual booth bins to encourage centralized waste disposal. With easy-access recycling stations and reduced landfill waste, we’re creating a cleaner, greener space for all.
Reuse at Every Turn: All Furniture Rented
For both style and sustainability, we’re renting all event furniture – and encouraging exhibitors to do the same. This minimizes production and disposal impacts while making our event greener from the ground up.
Circular Economy in Action: Recycling Badges and Lanyards
We’ve skipped the traditional swag bags in favor of a cleaner, leaner approach, and all lanyards and badges will be recycled through TerraCycle. With every step, we’re reducing single-use items and contributing to a true circular economy.
As an attendee, we encourage you to optimize your business travel by making the most of your time at the event. Instead of traveling to meet individual companies, consider arranging meetings with them all at The AI Summit New York. This not only streamlines your schedule but also contributes to cost savings and reduces your carbon footprint. Keep an eye out for your custom referral codes to facilitate these arrangements.
During the event, we kindly request that you bring a refillable water bottle to help minimize plastic waste. Please also be mindful of waste disposal by recycling, avoiding unnecessary food waste, and accepting only the giveaways or brochures that you genuinely need and intend to use. Together, we can make a positive impact on sustainability at the summit.
Don’t forget - you’re able to recycle your badge post-event, so please look out for bins when you are finished with yours!
