Alex Tsankov is a Senior Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Engineer at Bloomberg, where he supports Bloomberg Industry Group, an affiliate of Bloomberg that offers the Bloomberg Law service, as well Bloomberg Tax and Bloomberg Government AI products. In this role, he drives infrastructure efforts to operationalize large language models within the Bloomberg Law legal research product. GenAI has opened up many unique reliability and infrastructure challenges for which he is constantly finding new solutions.
With over a decade of experience spanning software engineering, site reliability, and AI/ML operations in the financial software space, Alex specializes in building scalable, secure systems that bring GenAI from prototype to production. His background in maintaining high-performance and high-reliability compute infrastructure has helped in his efforts to benchmark foundational models against real-world legal tasks and deploy extensive AI/ML infrastructure using Kubernetes, GPU clusters, and multi-cloud environments.
