Anusha Dandapani
Anusha leads the UNICC AI Hub, a centralized resource for AI-related initiatives across the UN system. Working closely with the UNICC Director’s Office, she drives UN-wide coordination on AI governance, development, and responsible deployment. She oversees cross-agency collaboration, capacity-building, and the delivery of AI consultancy, training, and shared solutions aligned with UN mandates. Anusha also builds strategic partnerships across the public, academic, and private sectors, promotes AI literacy, and ensures equitable access to AI tools. Representing the AI Hub globally, she advances UNICC’s leadership in ethical, sustainable, and impactful AI integration across the multilateral system.
Previous Experience
Anusha brings nearly two decades of experience in data science and AI from the financial services sector. Prior to joining UNICC, she served as a Data Science Lead at Barclays, where she led several strategic initiatives in electronic surveillance and financial crime compliance. Her work included managing cross-functional teams, aligning machine learning development with regulatory requirements, and delivering end-to-end data-driven solutions. She is also an adjunct professor, teaching Data Visualization and Visual Analytics at NYU & Fordham, and actively mentors early-career professionals in data and AI.
