Aruna Rawat
Aruna Rawat is an industry leader in information security, with over 18 years of experience safeguarding member information and managing cyber risk beyond just tools and technologies. Throughout her career, she has enhanced the security posture of prestigious institutions, including Yale University and Stamford Health, and continues to contribute her expertise to the insurance industry.
In her current role as Chief Information Security Officer at PURE Insurance, a Tokio Marine Company, Aruna leads a resilient security program built not only on technical rigor but also on emotional intelligence. Her experience spans higher education, telecommunications, healthcare, and insurance, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the evolving cyber landscape.
Aruna holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics from India and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Telecom SudParis in France. She stays at the forefront of the industry through continuous learning and advanced certifications, including CISSP, CCSP, and HCISPP.
Passionate about community and leadership, Aruna actively fosters dialogue within the security community through events and networking initiatives. She has served as a board member of the WiCyS New York chapter, co-chaired PURE’s Women in Technology program, and was a member of CHIEF, an executive women’s leadership network. She also dedicates her time to mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
Outside of work, Aruna is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring the world with (and sometimes without) her two teenage children. She finds joy in running, lifelong learning, spending time with friends, and walking her dog, Tequila.
