JoAnn serves as a Fellow of Data & Artificial Intelligence for Mastercard as a leading expert assisting the organization’s innovation, policy and risk efforts. Prior to being appointed as a Fellow, JoAnn served as Mastercard’s first Chief Data Officer for Mastercard for over five years, leading the organization’s data strategy and innovation efforts. She also served as the firm’s first Chief Privacy Officer, responsible for creating the first global privacy and data protection program including creating the organization’s approach for compliance with the European Union’s Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Working as an Executive Advisor for the Cantellus Group, JoAnn advises fortune 500 companies, academic institutions and government organizations regarding issues at the intersection of technology, data and business strategy. JoAnn is a global expert and strategist with extensive experience overseeing the curation, quality, ethical use, governance, and management of data assets.
