This talk will provide an overview of the Council's ongoing work, highlighting the deployment of a legacy pre-Generative AI machine learning model which has been deployed for use in daily operations for years. Additionally, it will explore current initiatives to implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models to enhance legislative staff workflows, and access to data. The presentation will cover foundational theory behind AI development, offering insights into the practical limitations of the technology and why that subsequently limits expectations of effective applications of the technology.
